Finally it has been officially unveiled! The latest and meanest Shelby beast features an all-aluminum, 5.2 liter Supercharged V8 that delivers more than 700 HP thanks to Eaton 2.65-liter roots-style supercharger. The engine has forged connecting rods, improved lubrication system and better cooling than the already great performing (and beteer looking, imho) older brother Shelby GT350. 2020 GT500 is capable to accelerate 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and finish the 1/4 mile in less than 11 seconds.
As of transmission Tremec 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is chosen for GT500 and it should run through the gears in 100 milliseconds Since you’re most definitely slower than this, Ford does not offer a manual transmission for it. The power is then has been sent to the rear wheels via light-weight carbon fiber driveshaft. The revised suspension includes lighter coil springs, MagneRide shocs. Also, it has the biggest front Brembo brakes ever fitted onto American muscle car. Actually, all brakes have 6-piston calipers and unique 2-piece rotors. Front ones measure 16.5 inches. Hood vent is 31×28 inches big, sump has active baffles to keep it wet all the time on any corner. This makes it the fastest, most powerful, best-handling ‘Stang ever.
Even the pricing is not yet announced you may start to save up for their optional handling packge that gives you an adjustable front strut mounts and a spoiler with a Gurney flap or get yourself a Carbon Fiber Track Package with super light carbon-fiber 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, adjustable rear wing splitter wickers and no rear seats.
