The Blade concept: Neal Bailey’s Blade XTR

The Blade concept: Neal Bailey’s Blade XTR

The Blade concept is a custom sportscar created by Neal Bailey and inspired by American muscle cars. His present made Bailey Blade XTR is based on Cobra Replica chassis, which is combined with modern suspension and powertrain.

As he says in his website, XTR is a small 101″ wheelbase sports car with wide body stance, designed to fit large displacement engines like Ford 5.4 liter supercharged V8. The engine is designed to be fitted in front, but suspension is put forward so that mid-engine performance would be achieved. 550 HP engine is attached to 6-speed manual short-shift transmission, independent rear suspension with dynamic rear steering, full ABS and no traction control. You may find some interesting production videos in his website too.

Looks like that this XTR design is not the first one – I found an other version of it called “Blade Concept” and got confused here, because in production photos you may see the concept version being produced, but in videos – XTR. Maybe Neal did both of them or simply changed his mind while manufacturing this amazing muscle car. Here are some pictures and photos of production.
