Ford has finally managed to develop a truly muscular car after years of not having it. The 5 liter Mustang monster debuted at the American International Auto Show in Detroit. The high performance V8 generates 412 HP. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission [both manual [Getrag] and automatic].
This Mustang was developed with the input of Ford Racing – The V8 engine is totally new one and it was developed by using Coyote Indycar and Cammer V8 engines as examples. Mustang’s engine got cam torque variable timing and aluminum 4-vavle per cylinder heads for better performance and faster response [rpm can easily get up to 7000].
If someone feels this is not enough, Ford offers Brembo brakes as an option [same used in GT500 Mustang]. Ford switched hydraulic power steering to an electric setup for better handling and mileage.
