2012 Mustang Boss 302

2012 Mustang Boss 302

Boss is back. The legendary Ford Mustang Boss 302 was unveiled at Laguna Seca racetrack. The new Boss is described as “the quickest, best-handling straight-production Mustang ever offered by Ford.”

The standard 302 Boss is seriously powefull: Ford’s engineers trained their 5.0 liter V8 with new intake, revised cams, retuned ECU to get as much as 440 HP [380 of torque]. The pony beast had its suspension, brakes, wheels and tires upgraded. The power is delivered through a short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox with an upgraded clutch. The result – 155 mph [249 km/h] top speed. Many other upgrades are done as well including interior and exterior features.
Ford is going to build a limited number of special edition Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca track models. These are going to have racing suspension, stiffer body with extra aerodynamic features.
