2008 BBP Cuda

2008 BBP Cuda

This ‘Cuda study has slipped our radar. This 2008 BBP ‘Cuda Concept was handcrafted by the very same Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters that built the original Challenger Concept that lead to the current production model and also teh ones, that built the Doug Schramm’s Charger. BBP stand for “Bring Back Plymouth” and, surprisingly, is based not on a Challenger, but on a 2007 Charger SRT8. Plymouth enthusiast by the name of Curtis J Macintyre commissioned Metalcrafters to build it.
The design of the car was inspired by its 1970-74 “E” Body Barracuda and built on a 4-inch shortened 2007 Charger chassis. The chassis, engine, interior and other component remained stock with the addition of a functional Shaker Hood scoop and Flowmaster mufflers, but the body was fully customized to fit the design idea. They used the same technique to build the BBP ‘Cuda as they used to build Dodge’s Concept Challenger – they manufactured the one-piece body and later cut out the elements.
After MOPAR executives saw the BBP ‘Cuda they asked if they could take the car to the 2007 SEMA Show where it made its official debut. “There’s a lot of pressure on us to bring the ‘Cuda back,” said Ralph Gilles a that time. This particular 2008 BBP Cuda was auctioned off by Barret Jackson in 2008 for $159.500. The purple convertible ‘Cuda is a total mystery for us – no background info.
