Car and Driver has released some images of that they call “almost definitely” the 2015 Ford Mustang S550.
The leaked info states, that the first S550 Mustangs will carry over the 3.7 V6 305 HP and 5.0 liter V8 420 HP Coyote engines, but soon will be joined by the new turbocharged 2.3 liter four-cylengine that’ll generate 310 horses. Ford is said to be considering 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 (from Taurus SHO) that develops 400 horses. This one will probably change the present 3.7 liter V6 poweplant. The ecoBoost V6 will probably appear somewhere in 2017. 10-speed automatic gearbox will change the current 6-speed one.
Car and Driver is reporting that GT500 will cary on with one of the high power engines:
– supercharged 5.8 liter V8 developing 662 HP. This will be used in Shelby GT500.
– twin-turbocharged V8 code-named “Voodoo” with a displacemnt in between 5.0 to 5.5 liters. This Ecoboost V8 will deliver 550-600 HP for the Shelby GT350 model.
– 5.0 liter Coyote will be used for the Boss 302 successor.
Independent rear suspension has been reported for a very long time. It will improve handling, comfort and will satify Europe’s needs.
As promised by the representatives, Mustang kept its origin, but got some serious modern trend injection.
