The upcoming flagship sedan of Cadillac – the CT6 is coming with an option of 400 HP/ 400 TQ twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 engine. It has been developed to deactivate cylinders (one per bank to become a V4) when it get lighter loads. Peak torque is reached at just 2500 rpm and lasts up to 5000 rpm. Mid-ranged pattern gives CT6and easy move on any gear. The turbo technology is also new – it featued faster spool-up due to new design and the use of low-inertia turbos and titanium-aluminide turbines. The engne’s performance is also backed up by 9.8:1 compression ratio, forged crankshaft, stronger pistons and exhaust valves with sodium-filled exhaust valves.

Start-stop technology is also featured. The engine is mated to a GM’s Hydra-Matic 9L90 8-speed automatic transmission (similar to Corvette’s or some of the Chevy SUVs).

Cadillac claims this is the only engine in the worlds that has all of these features: twin turbos, cylinder deactivation and start-stop.
